At Canary Wharf Pre-school we know the importance of healthy minds and healthy bodies and how vital it is for children to eat the right foods for growth and development. We also know that if children eat well in their early years they go on to make healthy choices throughout their lives. Our teachers sit with the children at each meal to encourage and assist them at mealtimes, this promotes good table manners and social skills.
Cooking activities are a popular part of pre-school life, and the children love to take part in food tasting sessions. We celebrate different cultures and festival at our school and enjoy learning about and discovering foods from all over the world.
Our Pre-school pupils benefit from small class sizes, ensuring each child receives a high level of attention from the very beginning.
Canary Wharf Education
At Canary Wharf Pre-school, we foster a love of learning, not simply learning for exam success: we embrace individuality and character development just as much as academic awards. At the heart of everything we do is a desire to instil confidence, self-esteem and independence in each and every child.
Pre-School children are encouraged to participate in a selection of after school activities, comprising sport, creative clubs and other specialist clubs. We change activities on a half-termly basis so that children can try out a range of different pursuits. For instance, the additions of Science and Cookery Clubs to the Pre-school after school programme have proved particularly popular with pupils. As well as building skills within a specific discipline, we believe broadening children’s interests can help them further develop self-confidence and self-esteem as well as reinforce social and communication skills.
At Canary Wharf Pre-school, our warm, family approach extends into the wraparound care provision we offer. There are a wide range of activities for Pre-school children to enjoy including small world (imaginative) play, board games as well as art and craft activities.
